Medical Instruments in the civil war
there were quite a few tools used in Civil War hospitals, they were all quite crude but they got the job done.
Bone saw
All surgeons in battle field hospitals had a bone saw. A bone saw was used for amputation and that was very common in surgeons tents. Doctors had no idea what germs and bacteria were so every time a solider had some type of infection the limb was immediately amputated.
